link in bio for LinkedIn

A link in bio for LinkedIn sits in the website field. Use it for selected work and a way to write, not for a stack of social icons.
The website field is the bio link
A link in bio for LinkedIn is the contact website on your profile. People tap it from a post or from the intro card. They should see the work, then a way to write to you.
Put two projects and Contact on the first screen. Put the long career story on LinkedIn itself. The page should not repeat the résumé.
Write the offer in one line
The bio on the page can say what you want: audits, portraits, a shop build. An offer block can name a price. The enquiry is stored in Messages.
If you invoice in another tool, add that only after a conversation. Do not put a public Pay button that this domain cannot charge.
Icons are optional
LinkedIn visitors do not need eight social icons. GitHub or a portfolio is enough if it is real. A mailto link can sit as an icon. The page will not send mail on your behalf.
Replace every sample link before you paste the address into LinkedIn.
Keep one address in the signature too
Use the same URL in the LinkedIn website field, the email signature, and a proposal. Update the projects on the page when one ships.
Publish before you add it. A draft is not what a recruiter or a client should open.
Questions
- Should I link my whole website?
- Link the page that shows the work and the ask. A homepage with a menu is a slower next step.
- Can someone hire me on this page?
- They can send a note, which is saved. A contract and a payment stay on the tools you already use.
