donation link in bio

28 Oct 2026 · 2 min read

A donation link in bio should open the page that actually receives the gift, such as GoFundMe. A Discord, a form, or a shop is a different button. This page does not hold the money.

The gift happens on the fund page

Donation link in bio means the profile website opens a real fund. Gofundme link in bio is that kind of button: paste the https campaign, label it Donate, and say who receives the money. This page does not hold the gift and it does not pay it out.

A product is different. Etsy link in bio, gumroad link in bio, amazon, or meesho can be an https shop button. Merch link in bio can be that shop, or a product listed here. Checkout for a product here runs on Stripe, Razorpay, or your payment link. The card is not typed on makemylink.space.

A server, a form, and a letter

Discord link in bio is an https invite, labeled with the server name. It is not a download and not a video. Newsletter link in bio and substack link in bio open the tool that sends the letter. This site can store an email address. It does not send the letter.

Google form link in bio, notion link in bio, and a github link are https buttons. Order link in bio and product link in bio should name the thing being ordered. A vague Join now is how people tap the wrong row.

Register, RSVP, and apply

Registration link in bio means the sign-up form is the website on the profile. Rsvp link in bio means the reply form is that same kind of button. Apply link in bio and register now link in bio are captions, not a second link inside the post.

Put the form’s https address on the page, or as one of Instagram’s five websites. Publish it before the caption says the form is open. A closed form should come off the page when you publish the change.

Tickets and a map

Ticket link in bio opens the seller that issues the ticket. This site does not mint one. A map button is the Google Maps https link for the door, labeled with the place.

Keep Donate, Tickets, and the map as separate labels. One button that tries to be all three gets fewer taps and more confused messages.

One stable profile link

Paste makemylink.space and your name in the bio. Put the fund, the server, and the shop on that page. When the fund ends, remove that button and publish. The profile URL stays.

Instagram allows up to five websites in the app. Five different fund links are harder to keep honest than one page with one Donate button.

Say where the money goes

Write the organisation and the goal in the sentence under the name. People decide before they tap. A button that only says Link is not a donation.

A contact note is saved in the studio. It is not a receipt. The receipt comes from the fund page or the checkout that took the payment.

Questions

Can people donate on this domain?
Point Donate at the fund page that receives the money. A product shop here checks out on Stripe, Razorpay, or your own payment link. That is a sale, not a fund.
Is a Discord invite the donation?
No. A Discord https invite opens Discord. Label it Join the server, not Donate.
What does register now in a caption mean?
The form or the ticket is at the profile website. It is not a button inside the caption.
