link in bio clicks

28 Oct 2026 · 4 min read

Link in bio clicks are taps on each button. Page views are visits. A zero means nothing has been stored yet. The studio does not invent a number.

A view is not a click

Link in bio clicks are taps on the buttons, stored with the page. A page view is someone opening the page. A click is someone choosing a button. A busy page can have many views and few clicks when the first label is unclear.

Read both numbers. A high view count with no clicks means people arrived and did not see a next step they wanted. A high click count on one button means that label is doing the job. The other buttons are optional.

The studio also lists sources, devices, and campaigns when a referrer or a campaign tag was stored, and it counts QR scans. You can download a CSV for 7, 28, or 90 days. A zero is a zero. Nothing in that report is rounded up.

What a tap is, and what it is not

A click is the button press. It is not proof the video was watched, the song was streamed, or the shop took an order. YouTube, Spotify, and the shop you link to keep those results. This page only knows the tap happened.

A WhatsApp button records the tap. It does not read the conversation and it does not send a reply. A contact note, a lead, or an email signup is stored in the studio. It is not a button click, and this site does not send the email.

A QR code from the studio can count scans. A scan is someone opening the code, often from a card or a poster. It is not the same as a visit that started in an Instagram bio. Read the two counts separately.

Name the button for the destination

“Latest video” gets a tap from someone who wants the video. “Click here” does not tell them what happens next, so the click number stays low even when the video is the right offer. Rename the button, publish, and read the new visits.

Put the button people already tap near the top. Demote or remove the one that stays at zero after the name is clear. How many links you keep should follow the taps, not the urge to list every account you have.

A measurement id is optional

You can add a GA4 measurement id for this page. It looks like G- followed by a short code. Visits and link taps can then show in that Google Analytics property as well. The id does not replace the counts in the studio, and a wrong id is rejected.

Use it when you already live in Google Analytics. If you do not, the studio counts are enough to see whether the page is being opened and which button is chosen. Do not add the id to chase a dashboard you will not read.

Give the numbers a week

A page that went public this morning has almost no clicks. That is not a verdict. Wait until people have had a reason to tap the bio: a story, a video description, a card on the counter.

Then compare the buttons with each other, not with a creator who has a different audience. Your menu against your location is a useful comparison. Your menu against a stranger’s page is not.

Read one quiet week

Suppose the page was opened 40 times and the latest-video button was tapped 11 times. The location button was tapped twice. A button labelled Community was tapped zero times. The video is the page. The location is a real second need. Community is a label nobody understood, or a destination nobody wanted.

Rename Community once, to the real place it opens, and publish. If the next visits still skip it, remove it. Do not add three more buttons to compensate. The 11 taps are the instruction: keep that video first.

A source list tells you the site that sent the visit, when a referrer was stored. A device list tells you phone or desktop. A campaign appears only if the link they opened carried a campaign tag. None of these is a city. If the source line is empty, no referrer was stored for those visits.

Download the CSV when you want the rows in a sheet. The ranges are 7, 28, and 90 days. Compare your buttons with each other inside one range. A zero in that file is still a zero.

A new domain does not create taps

People tap because the label matches why they came. A custom domain is a Pro boundary after DNS and TLS. Billing is not connected, so it cannot be bought on this site today. The clicks you already have are on makemylink.space and your name.

Free includes one published profile, the starter designs, the public URL, and these stored views, clicks, and messages. A platform mark stays on the page. The counts are part of that, not a paid extra.

Questions

Why is the count zero?
No visit or no tap has been stored. Open the public page, tap the button, and look again. A draft does not collect a public visit.
Do you show a map of cities?
No. Sources, devices, and campaigns are lists. A source is the site that referred the visit, or the campaign tag on the link. It is not a city map.
Is a WhatsApp tap a message?
No. A click means the chat link was opened. You still read and answer the chat in WhatsApp.
