discord link in bio

A Discord link in bio is an https invite to a server you run. Label it with the server name. It is not a video, a download, or a telegram channel.
An invite, labeled honestly
Discord link in bio and link in bio discord mean a public https invite, the discord.gg or discord.com kind Discord gives you. Put it under Instagram’s Links, or as a button on your page named for the server.
People should know they are about to open Discord. “Join the server” says that. “Full video” does not, and this page will not pretend a server is a hidden file.
Who the invite is for
A server for people who already follow the work can sit under the latest video. A server that is the whole product can be the first button.
Do not put a permanent invite on a page if the server is closed. Expire it in Discord, then remove the button and publish.
It is not a group chat on this domain
WhatsApp is a separate button, wa.me for a person or a chat.whatsapp.com invite for a group you mean to open. A contact note is stored here. None of these is Discord.
A telegram caption is not a feature of this page. Do not point the bio at a promise of a hidden video in another app.
Keep one profile URL
If Discord is one of several next steps, the Instagram website should be makemylink.space and your name. The invite is a button you can remove without editing Instagram.
If you paste the invite directly into Links, you edit Instagram every time the invite changes. That is fine for a single purpose and clumsy for a weekly page.
Test the join
Open the invite on a phone that is not already in the server, or use a private window if Discord allows it. You should see the server name you expect, not an expired notice.
A click here means the button was tapped. It does not mean they finished joining. Discord knows the members.
Put the rules where they will be seen
If the server has rules, say that in the sentence under your name or on the button. A surprise server loses people who only wanted the video.
Publish the page before the Reel says the server is in the bio. An expired invite is how that line stops working.
Questions
- Does this site host the server?
- No. The button opens Discord. You moderate the server there.
- Should the invite be the only Instagram link?
- Only if joining is the one action. Otherwise put the invite on the page, under the video or the shop.
- What if the invite expires?
- Make a new invite in Discord, update the button, and publish. Remove a dead invite. Do not leave a caption pointing at it.
